First book I've read by Scottoline and certainly not my last. As a fellow Italian I found myself bursting outloud with laughter as I could relate to Mary's family. The story was great and the characters loveable especially the 3 Tonys. I could see this as a movie with Robert de Niro and Danny DeVito in the roles of 2 Tonys. Loved Scottoline's writing style. Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed this book. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator annoyed me with some of the characters but overall it was great
enjoyed the story when I could find it. For my taste it was way overdone with the discription of EVERYTHING..which lost the story at times...
I think this book is not meant for adults as the author overplays the Italian characters and the black christian church members.
In one private thought of the main character, Mary/Mare,Maria, she states that as an Italian she knows that sex is dirty. This will be news to a lot of Italians. It is also in complete disagreement with other references of how the main character enjoys sex with her partner.
Its been so long since a Rosato & Associates book has come out and it didn't disappoint!! I'd maybe have liked more involvement with the other girls, but who doesn't love Mary!? I hope we don't have to wait so long next time!
Really enjoyed this book, suspense, comedy, and love story all rolled into one
Mary DiNunzio's first case, as a full partner in Bennie Rosato's lawyer firm. Allegra Gardner, a poor little rich girl thinks her sister, Fiona, was murdered, but the wrong guy went to prison. A story of relationships- Allegra and her family, Mary and her fiance, Mary and Judy, Mary and her family, including the 3 Tonys. It helped a bit to have read the previous books, to know how Mary and her lawyer associates work, but is not really needed.
Well written, some humour, some seriousness when needed. A good twist to solve the mystery.
Very enjoyable, easy read. Spent the entire day reading this entertaining novel. Love Scottoline's writing.
