I have loved Ferdinand for almost 50 years. My Mom read it to me when I was small and I still read it every chance I get. Ferdinand is the best example of how to keep being you, no matter what life brings your way.

Choosing from the heart authentically is a timeless and universal message that we could all benefit from being reminded of and this beautiful tale reminds of just that. With gorgeous sketches this simple yet powerful story is heart warming and leaves quite an impression. Worthy of becoming a movie but not to be replaced by the film. An excellent read.

From Wikipedia: In 1938- (pre WWII) this book outsold Gone With the Wind. It was not without controversy. The Cleveland Plain Dealer "accused the book of corrupting the youth of America" while the New York Times downplayed the possible political allegories, insisting the book was about being true to oneself.

This is an oldie but a goldie. It is a completely enchanting story about a bull that is too gentle to fight at the bull fights, preferring instead to sit and smell the flowers. I can't wait to have grandchildren so I can start to read it to a new generation of kids.

Ferdinand the Bull is my hero. This allegory is perfect for all ages. One of my all-time favorite picture books. Read-alike: Sneetches by Dr. Seuss

A wonderful story and well-written for children. Teaches the power of staying true to yourself. If you can get the copy that incudes a CD, do so! The narration is actually even better than reading it yourself. The only CD I never got tired of hearing, although we played it a hundred times.
