Something To Cry About
An Argument Against Corporal Punishment Of Children In CanadaeBook - 2002
This book considers the historical, psychological, sociological, and legal foundations of the belief that violence against children is acceptable so long as it does not result in serious injury and is intended to improve the child's behavior. The book argues from a philosophical perspective that this attitude should be abandoned. It also advocates the repeal of Canadian Criminal Code Section 43, which allows corporal punishment so long as the level of force is "reasonable."
