From the screenwriter who brought us When Harry Met Sally comes a hilarious, candid look at issues that concern women. With her disarming, intimate, completely accessible voice, and dry sense of humor, Nora Ephron discusses everythingfrom how much she hates her purse to how much time she spends attempting to stop the clock: the hair dye, the treadmill, the lotions and creams that promise to slow the aging process but never do.Oh, and she can't stand the way her neck looks. But her dermatologist tells her there's no quick fix for that. Ephron chronicles her life as an obsessed cook, passionate city dweller, and hapless parent in an audiobook that is utterly courageous, wickedly funny, and unexpectedly moving in its truth telling.

Filled with quotable wisdom and over the top humor. Ever wondered, "Who is Nora Ephron?", this is a good place to start. Recommend listening to the audiobook read by Ephron to get the timing of her very funny delivery.

Read by the author which really added to the hilarity of it. I'm not sure i would have gotten some of the nuances of her "voice" if I had just read it.

I read this book a few years ago but I recently listened to it and it?s vastly more entertaining as an audiobook. Nora Ephron reads her own words and she is droll, disarming and often hilarious. I will listen to this again. Favorite essays: On Maintenance and a more serious essay, On Rapture (about Nora's love of reading).

- one of my books on tape that goes walking with me. Nice and light but with crisp writing and some funny bits. A bit trying to hard to be a witty, fashionable New Yorker but I still liked it. 7/10
