Maximum leads a flock of flying kids that escaped from an experiment. She has kept them safe and away from anyone who might find out there secret. But when a series of events lands them in the hospitable being interrogated by the FBI there lives are flipped upside down. I give this book a 3 out of 5.

TEENY, TINY, SPOILER (Not if you read book two)

Max is an idiot and Fang is too(in this book) The other Max is stupid, idiotic, and every bad word you can think of. I've got to say, Max is a genius in one part (I don't want to spoil it). She got me fooled. Great book, though!!!

I think this book had to be the best in the series so far that I've read (1-4).
I loved fang and how they tried to bring Nudge more to the surface-cause she's always in the back-if you know what I mean. I also loved the name, SAVING THE WORLD and other extreme sports. it sounds so serious up to the extreme sports title, didn't we see the flocks grade for extreme sports on the back of the last book (schools out-forever (I finished that a day before school started)). Anyway, what I still don't understand is why max wont just take fangs feeling for her seriously, I mean its kind of obvious that you got feeling of your own, Max. you loovve him, right? sometimes I can barley keep track with ya.
things I did expect and things I didn't.
1. I always knew that Jeb was her real father, I just knew.
2. I never really predicted that we'd find out who max's mom is, I though they'd say that she died at birth or something, but Dr. Awesome cookies? no freaking way.
3. because I guessed that Jeb was her dad from the beginning, I also knew that Ari was her brother, and I always guessed that he was her half brother.
4. I did not expect the flock to split. although I did expect that fangs blog had an huge impact on the modern children of the world, and of course that a riot would form and take down itex.

I liked this book.

n this adventure Max and Fang are having relationship issues, even though neither seems to want to admit their feelings for one another. They haven't seen any Erasers for a while and some of the flock just want to settle down and forget about saving the world. Scientists have been given orders to terminate these winged failures and they've got some cyborg Flyboys with instructions to bring them back to The School. Meanwhile an evil dictator residing in Europe has plans for mass genocide that make Hitler look like a choir boy that when successful will reduce the world's population by half. Of course the voice in Max's head keeps telling her only she can save the world!

SAPPHIREBEAR15 Jun 28, 2012

In Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports, the Flock must save the world from the Itex Corporation (the company behind the School, also connected to the Institute for Higher Living) and its Director, who plans to terminate and destroy all recombinant species and cut the Earth's population in half (otherwise known as the By-Half Plan). The Erasers have been replaced with flying, robotic Erasers called Flyboys. Meanwhile, Fang tries to persuade Max to find a permanent home where they can live in peace and forget about the world, only caring about themselves and the Flock. Max invites Ari (the last remaining Eraser and Max's half-brother) to join the group after escaping from the School once more, causing Fang, Iggy, and the Gasman to leave the Flock in protest, leaving only Max, Nudge, Angel, and Ari. In the end of the book, Ari's death is predicted by an "expiration date" that appears on the back of his neck, revealing the date that he would die, and as predicted, he dies. The group reunites, and Max discovers that Jeb Batchelder is her father and that her mother is Dr. Valencia Martinez, a kindly veterinarian from the first book (Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment). Max also begins to realize that she may have romantic feelings toward Fang.

This one was definitely the funniest book yet in the series. I loved the romance starting to brew with Fang and Max. The ending was great and action packed and i liked how it kinda told how Fang's blog was affecting Schools around the world. All the characters kept their personalities though I will admit that Angel was a devious little 6 year old. In this book only did I have any good feelings for Ari, especially at the end with Max, I almost cried :'o But the ending with Max's parents I thought was very heartfelt and lovely. The middle and beginning were all kinda just smaller parts that led up to the big kahuna. I was glad to see Dr.Martinez and Ella back in the series as well as Total. Total was definitely a great and imaginative addition to the story but I can't help but wonder why he can talk. I've been thinking maybe he's a mutant to and that's y he's in a dog's body and why he's sided with the flock and against Itex and the School but I guess I'll find out when I read the rest of the series. And does anyone know of a real corporation called Itex cuz then I'm gonna really freak out lol. Pls notify me as soon as some1 finds out lol. Great book!!!!!
