One of the reviewer's on the OLA's children's reading committee said she thought this was the best book of the year. I'd have to agree. Written by Meg Tilly, the actress, it is her first foray into children's ficton. What a debut! Story of Jack and her family who lose their father to war in Afghanistan. Their mother unravels and leaves the children with with their great grandmother....it's about growing up, feelings and learning to understand and accept others. I loved the book and just kept wanting to read on and on about this quirky and courageous young girl.
