How Winning Leaders Make Great Calls

Book - 2007
Rate this:
Tichy and Bennis redefine the essence of leadership as the ability to make consistently good judgements, especially when the stakes are high, information is limited and the right call is far from obvious. Leaders add most of their value by the quality of their judgements; every other aspect of leadership is secondary. This book will help readers get better at decision making and support better decision making from their bosses and staff.

I am not pretty sure which of the two Noel's books I have read, I have enjoyed the most, but this is a master piece. Noel presents the leaders of organizations who have coped with uncertainty when they need to make a difficult decisions and the main differences between the winners and losers. His very close understanding of those companies, provides with an objective and trustable source of information. I specially liked the chapter related with crises, where the companies have to have the CEO's guts to take a smart decision to survive or to be part of the history.
