Legendary singer-songwriter Steve Winwood has gone through a long, full life and come out of it with his wonderful voice still intact. It's somewhat of a shame, though, that this album hasn't anything particularly profound to have that voice for. Track after track begins and ends, and the blues rock vibe that Winwood has created sounds reasonably nice.
Yet there's nothing with the same kind of catchy sensations or spirited appeals of his past work. Instead, this feels more like the sort of album to put on while lounging about the house or otherwise relaxing. There's nothing wrong with it, but there's also none of the energetic spark that man fans are likely hoping for. The one possible exception is "Dirty City", which features fellow singer-songwriter Eric Clapton, and listeners may be advised to simply download that track and leave the rest of the album be.
