Great cooking goes beyond following a recipe--it's knowing how to season ingredients to coax the greatest possible flavor from them. Drawing on dozens of leading chefs' combined experience in top restaurants across the country, Karen Page and Andrew Dornenburg present the definitive guide to creating "deliciousness" in any dish. Thousands of ingredient entries, organized alphabetically and cross-referenced, provide a treasure trove of spectacular flavor combinations. Readers will learn to work more intuitively and effectively with ingredients; experiment with temperature and texture; excite the nose and palate with herbs, spices, and other seasonings; and balance the sensual, emotional, and spiritual elements of an extraordinary meal.Seasoned with tips, anecdotes, and signature dishes from America's most imaginative chefs, THE FLAVOR BIBLE is an essentialnbsp;reference for every kitchen.

This book is amazing for cooking. It is not a cookbook with recipes for dishes, it is more like a reference book for matching flavours. It is perfect for adding a unique twist to a recipe. It is a very useful book to have in the kitchen.

The list price of this book was 35.00 dollars and out of my price range right now (2013). However, it is more of a reference book that ought to be owned, to have on hand to check against the next meals ingredients, than it is a book to check out and read from the library.

Probably won't check it out again, however, if the funds come available and I can find a copy, I would be willing to have it in my kitchen library.
