Summary
Add a SummaryZoey has a lot of problems like how she know that Neferet is evil but cant tell anyone cause Neferet can read everyone's minds except for hers and Aphrodite, her best friend is something she has never seen before and she has three boyfriends and cant break up with either one of them.
The school's been shaken by drama teacher Patricia Nolan's death. She's been crucified and next to her there was a quote from the bible which leads Zoey to believe that the People of Faith are responsible and spurs Neferet to strengthen school security. Set to clear out her romantic life, Zoey sneaks out of the House of Night, resolving to break up with Heath - but she has little success. On the way back Zoey meets Stevie Rae and, together with Aphrodite, brings her to Aphrodite's parents' house, and keeps her there while trying to find a solution for her problem.
Back at the House of Night, Zoey realizes that, as a leader of the Dark Daughters, she has to chose someone else to fill the position of Earth in her circle. Much to everyone else's displeasure, Zoey chooses Aphrodite when she manifests a new Earth affinity.
Zoey also feels more and more estranged from Erik because of the lies she tells to hide her relationship with Loren. During the night when Erik finishes the Change, Zoey loses her virginity to Loren and Imprints with him, breaking her previous one with Heath. Erik walks in on them and angrily breaks up with Zoey. She pulls herself together and leaves to gather her friends, planning to tell them about Stevie Rae so they can cast a circle and heal her. On the way, Zoey chances upon Loren and Neferet and hears him confess that Neferet had made him seduce Zoey in order for her to become alienated from her closest friends and that he actually loves Neferet.
Zoey's world is crashing around her in Chosen. She's still got the boyfriend dilemma (why on earth didn't she just stay with Erik?), and her relationship with young professor Loren Blake is still just icky. Heath's still around, still Imprinted, and Zoey's still confused. In fact, this confusion takes a major amount of energy and drives a lot of the plot in Chosen. Meanwhile, Zoey's relationship with her mother and step-loser continues to deteriorate, and there's another Full Moon Ritual coming up. Zoey's unsure what to do to save her best friend Stevie Rae, but she knows she must do something, and it's going to have to involve arch-nemesis Aphrodite. Sound like enough turmoil? It's not. Adult vamps are turning up horribly murdered, and war against the humans is about to be launched.

Add a CommentI really like this book but i think its moving a bit slow.
wow, this should have been called "Effed Up". But I'll stick with Zoey and see how things turn out. She is still interesting. The one irritating propensity the author is developed is to end several chapters with dire-sounding cheaters like "I was to regret that statement". I really hate when authors do that. I mean, I'm reading the book, so I will find out what happened, right? first person hindsight is, frankly, cheating and a cheap literary trick.
I don't think I can read these books anymore. I have been debating whether or not to continue them since I picked this one up. Now, I think I have realized that it is just not worth it. Which is sad, because I was so excited for this series when I read the first book that I feel I'm giving up too soon, but I just can't deal with Zoey anymore. I mean, it seems like the writing and word choices are too immature, like when Zoey uses the word gay as in she's happy and then she thinks '(gay, hehe)'. I mean, seriously? What? It just gets on my nerves. Then, I simply cannot deal with her drama issues. Juggling three boyfriends? Really? What she did with Heath? And Loren? No, I can't understand this level of stupidity. No thank you. What I did like about this book, though, the reason I gave it 2 stars, was everything that had to do with Stevie Rae. I thought that part was really interesting, if a bit cheesy.
This was a good book but I could think of some ways it could be better.
Read this book in 1 day!!! Absaloutly love the House of Night series.

Loved it
i luv it luv it luv it!!!!!!!!!!!!
whats after chosen ?!
In my personal opinion, compared to the rest of them, being the third book in the series, you have to really make things interesting and this book didnt stand out like the rest of them. By the 3/4 mark of the book it made you disgusted with Zoey and just start hating her. It was a really hard book to sit through and finish reading. I did in fact enjoy the end of the book, when neferet finally admits to zoey what shes been doing and planning. Though I'm quite glad Zoey and her boyfriend split, I didn't like how it was so highschool about it. I'm sorry but calling her a sl*t in different words just didn't do it for me. When I started reading the book, I thought it was going to be a fatastic book with so many twists and turns (though it had many of those) it was not a great suspence story.
