This disappointing film definitely starts off as a dud: Mike Binder & Janeane Garofalo play a couple who must survive a series of barely comedic practical disasters on arrival in England. (Part of the problem here is that Garofalo, who shines as stronger characters, seems ill-suited to the role of companion & helper. The couple's droning hysterics about American chauvinism & travel phobia are also annoying.) The laughs improve somewhat once Alan Rickman enters the fray & the focus switches to satirizing corporate politics. But the plot remains unbalanced, since several of the kinkier supporting characters are more compelling than the main action, & its denouement is downright dumb.

Decent comedy. Some parts are quite well done but other parts are a bit silly and unnecessary. Gets off to a slow start but does eventually warm up.

Enjoyed this movie - light, entertaining and Alan Rickman is always good
