I think this book is awesome. It had lots of adventure at the end. In school I had to do a plot diagram for this book :3

This one's a good read. I really enjoyed the part when he realizes that Wellmet's magic had protected him the whole time he lived out on the streets. When he could have died of cold, hunger, or anything else imaginable for living on the streets, he didn't die. It had me hooked, with all the vivid sensory language, humor and thrilling plot. I felt like i was almost part of the book with Conn.
It's sort of funny how there are those runes that you get to figure out at the bottom of some of Nevery's writing... They make some sense to Nevery's dull conversations and thoughts. Conn makes it have a little more humor there on the gray pages.
Crowe probably isn't the best guy to be your uncle, and you've gotta hand it to Pettivox for being a pretty good bad guy.
The book was only a bit predictable at different times, though. I recommend this book!

Seems more of a younger kids book, but for magic/fantasy lovers, this is one is worth more than one read.
