I tried so hard to like this book. I only made it to page 92. The writing is okay (but only just) and the pace is incredibly slow.

Highly recommend! The Book of Ruth is one of my favorites, and I enjoyed this rendition of it so much that I read the two books in the series constantly until finished. Very well written with a lot of detail.

A retelling of the story of Ruth and Naomi, this novel is should enthrall the reader from the first page. I am partial to tales of Scotland, but Liz Curtis HIggs is an exceptional author. If you are seeking quality literature, read any of her titles set in Scotland. Highly recommended!!!

Very detailed. Sometimes the pace of the story suffers from the amount of detail. The outcome of the story is easily predicted early on in the book so you need to love Higgs writing. She's left the door wide open for another book in this series.
