The rough hockey player Derek Thompson played by Dwayne Johnson, has earned himself the nickname the “tooth fairy” for how many times his aggressiveness has led to his opponents losing teeth. After he accidentally loses it and crushes the dreams of a young fan, he is sentenced to spend time as a real tooth fairy so that he may be able to regain his childish dreams and aspirations and understand what it is like to be a kid again. Complete with his wand and wings, Derek is ready to be a tooth fairy, well, almost. Directed by Michael Lembeck and released in 2010, this comedic fantasy film will create large smiles in people of all ages.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who plays a character named Derek Thompson, is a hockey player. He is nicknamed “The Tooth Fairy” for his defensive capabilities as a hockey player. He has a girlfriend, who has two children of her own. One of them is a girl and she loses her tooth. She hopes that the tooth fairy will come to collect her tooth, and when Derek finds this out, he decides he should let her know that this is not true, and that the Tooth Fairy is not real. He is reprimanded by his girlfriend for saying such a thing to her daughter, and also receives punishment from unlikely creatures – Tooth fairies! Not the most interesting movie but perhaps a good watch for younger children.

Tooth Fairy is witty, funny and a great family movie. The Rock plays Derek Thompson, a hardcore hockey player that is known by his teammates as “The Tooth Fairy”. But who could have imagined that Derek would truly turn into a tooth fairy when he doubted their existence in front of a little girl? Now Derek must go through a labor of a week as a tooth fairy, and must make sure to hide from the parents and kids while exchanging their teeth for money. I actually enjoy this movie a lot because not only is it funny for kids and highlights on the “Tooth fairy” but there is a lot to do with family. Especially near the end, Derek has to patch up a lot of his relationships with other people and it shows how much you need others in times of happiness and sadness alike. A great watch for kids and adults alike. 4/5

It was an ok movie. If you need a movie to watch with kids while babysitting then this is a pretty good one to chose.

I watched the Tooth Fairy and it is a comedy movie Dwayne Johnson stars as Derek Thompson, one of the toughest players around until he’s sentenced to one week’s hard labor as the world’s unlikely tooth fairy. Even though his number one job is playing hockey and he has to face a conflict which is he is trying to decide what he wants to do with his life getting married or becoming a pro hockey player. And in the end he proposes and gets married.

This was a family movie with the lesson of 'what if' , instead of 'give up' . Solid performances from all. Check out the special features section which includes the 'Fairy Training Centre'.It is a fun programme with exersize movements such as : Cat Nap Tiptoe , Amnesia Dust Sprinkle and Fairy Free Style. Even the grandparents can do these with the little ones so it's a short but wonderful family activity.
Another special feature is "Fairioke". Kudos to 'Derek' and 'Tracy' for their attempt at "the Wind Beneath My Wings" . ( A good sense of humour and ear plugs needed ;-) )

Skip It - Tooth Fairy (2010) 101 min. Ridiculous fantasy comedy about The Rock playing a tooth fairy while juggling his hockey career and love life. No laughs to speak of; only some eye candy to keep the toddlers interested.
