Recommendable! A likable female protagonist, interesting characters and a decent plot. I guess I can kind of see why some compare Tai Randolph to Stephanie Plum but I think Tai might have a wider appeal. While they are both "girl detectives", Tina Whittle's character and plot aren't quite so much fluff and aren't quite so silly. The man who develops as her love interest is particularly intriguing. This first book in a series gives me hope that the series will be a bit more plot-driven and not so reliant on burning/exploding cars and the same predictable behavior from the same old characters. I am a Stephanie Plum fan who has grown weary of the same old same old and happy to find a new series with potential.
