Awesome book of a young woman coming of age and believing the word of God and not taking the easy way out in life. Beautifully written!!!
This is a well-written, nitty gritty, tell-it-like-it-is book about abortion. It's a valuable book for Christians who want to face the issue with honesty. When it comes to controversial topics, there's no one better than Francine Rivers at dissecting the problem and being fair but uncompromising. For non-Christians, Rivers presents, in "Atonement Child", a side of Christianity they have probably never seen. It's the aspect of Christianity that demands integrity from Christ's followers, in every part of their lives. For a look at child abuse and prostitution, Rivers' "Redeeming Love" is another eye-opener. - See more at: http://kcls.bibliocommons.com/item/show/1212801082#sthash.goJZc4v1.dpuf
May 4, 2012...Was shelving this yesterday, and decided to read it. I think we all need to think about this subject a little bit more than we do.
May 10, 2012.....finished it this morning. Pretty emotional.....gets you thinking......but not everyone has a knight in shining armour to come to the rescue.......or maybe we do and just don't know it yet.....??? Anyway, I've been lucky enough not to have to deal with this so far.....hopefully never?!
I think I was expecting more than this book delivered.
A gripping story about a woman victimized by rape and the unwanted pregnancy that results. Deeply moving and thought-provoking.
