'Homer' was hard to read because he reminded my grandson (and me) too much of our sweet little girl we lost recently. She and Homer might have been twins.

5 stars for a home loving, FAMILY loving white lab.

Beautiful and elegant story that I love because Homer is exactly like my dog. Homer knows what is important to him and he is content to sit, sniff and observe. A happy and calm dog indeed.

In a world full of vibrant, attention-grabbing picture books, Homer stands out for its refreshing calm and simplicity. Homer is a dog contented to watch the world from his front porch and be thankful for what he has. The sparce text lends itself to filling out the story as well as discussing what makes us happy.

Very low key story. I'm assuming this dog is quite old or a really calm breed because I don't know many dogs that would want to sit on the porch all day instead of go to the beach or walk in the field.

Homer is the wisest of all wise dogs. He would be best friends with the guy from City Dog, Country Frog, and they would hang out all day and be solemn and wise together.
