In the week I had this DVD I it 3 times and have since reserved it again. I have developed an appreciation of Nagesh Kukunoor the director and writer, but I think this is one of his best. The culture is depressing as it is concerned with dying people. The theme is up lifting. It starts with a very lucky man in the sense that he has just won a large amount of money and his girl friend has agreed to marry him Quickly he learns he has about 3 months to live. He abandons and lives in a center for people with ony a short time to live. He meets a lot of cynicism, but over time he both learns and teaches from the others in the same boat. Parts of the movie are funny and parts are uplifting. The music is enjoyable especially one song borrowed from an earlier Kukunoor film that is play as a set piece in the body of the film and later with the closing credits with the movie characters singing and dancing. Paradoxically both depressing and uplifting.
