A wide-ranging historical survey of the concepts of "life" and "death" in American history.

Not my favorite work by Lepore, but still worth a read for anyone interested in these topics or any fans of Lepore's other books.

A very entertaining collection of essays covering science, politics and social history. Great easy and informative reading.
