First book of Mr. Berry I've read. Lots of details into history and Templars. Used google maps to look at the locations detailed in the book. Moving on to his The Amber Room.

really great read, not too much violence and just enough plot and characterization to be interesting...

Another fun read. I did not enjoy this as much as "The Amber Room" or the "The Third Secret", but it was still good. This one seemed to have tomalley people, especially the historical figures, to keep track of.

First appearance of the Cotton Malone. Not a bad character. A little more believable in an adventure story unlike Dan Brown's Professor Landon. Yet in this story the seneschal and antagonist were the characters I thought were most interesting by far each having the most to lose or gain something. I like Berry's style of breaking up the thought bubbles each character was going through during the shooting/chasing scenes compared to Dan Brown. In the end, the great device is interesting and has great conclusion.

I liked this book & yes, it did remind me of Dan Brown. I thought it was a little long but I liked the way everything came together in the end. I like the character Cotton Malone.

The Templar Legacy is the first of Steve Berry’s Cotton Malone novels and tells of the hunt for lost Templar treasure. The Templar’s were wiped out in 14th century France but their vast wealth was never recovered. Malone and an expanding team search to uncover clues while two opposing factions within the secret modern-day Templars battle for control of the lost knowledge- The Great Devise. The novel is entertaining and fast paced with good historical research. There's a similarity to Dan Brown in this novel but without the non-sequiturs.

This was a good book. I was interested enough to read through it fairly quickly and liked the plot. The Templar's appear in a number of books and it is always interesting to me to see how each author changes the tales and creates new endings. I liked the surprises throughout the book that kept the pace moving and introduced new characters. I did think the big mystery was a little typical though I liked that the Templar power was ascribed to something other than pure wealth.

Overall a solid read. So far this author has not disappointed and each book I read seems to be an improvement over the last. I will definitely continue reading his work.

Quite entertaining with a mostly-good plot. Berry is not even near to the level of Dan Brown, but his attempts at creating religious and historical thrillers are not bad
