Fans of the earlier books in Kagawa's series will be thrilled to reunite with beloved characters and face a new quest in this return to the world of the Iron Fey. This latest trilogy centers not on Meghan, but her little brother Ethan, who is now a teenager who wants nothing to do with the faerie world that nevertheless keeps intruding into his life. The Iron Fey series is one of my favorite escapes, and, like its predecessors, this one does not disappoint.

Now, the whole perspective has shifted by a huge gap. We have Ethan Chase, your average mortal, who is not your average mortal. He can see faeries, and he wished he never could. The world of the Fey is one thing that he holds against everyone and his little personal bubble of toughness. Then enters a girl and a friend (why do so many books have this twist?) They all get thrown into a world a panic and madness and some adventure. All the while Ethan is holding a grudge against a certain someone, who may not have been too present in his life. looks like the vulnerable little brother grew to be a purely tough guy, no? 4/5 Stars.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Puck and Ash and Meghan and Grimalkin and Keirran! SO happy they made cameos! And Ash and Puck are like the best best friends ever! It's hard to read Ethan not caring if he were dead- but I guess it's understandable. He didn't experience Ash's change like us readers did.
Keirran is so great. He's spunky like Puck, compassionate like Meghan, and visually attractive like Ash. I love how he has all three glamours- I know this will become more important as the series continues, and I want to know what it'll mean for his future (and love for the exiled Summer faery, Annwyln). I kind of wish this story was told from his point of view instead. I like Ethan, it's cool to see how his life has turned out from the events of book one and I can empathize, but to me Keirran's story is much more interesting.
I can't even say I love Kenzie. I AM Kenzie (minus the cancer. Seriously??? I guessed it, but come on! That just was a bit depressing). She accepted the new world around her with courage and bravery, wasn't about to back down when someone needed help, and wanted to see as much of the world as she could, valuing the knowledge of what lies in the shadows over the ignorance of normal life. Honestly, that sounds like me. I love her and hope she and Ethan survive and live happy lives by the end of this series.
The ghostly fey! The Forgotten from the Iron Knight! It's so cool to see them be brought back into the story! (Maybe, just maybe, the Big Bad Wolf will also make a cameo. Fingers crossed!) I'm really excited for this next book and hope the third one comes out soon!

I'm debating reading it or not. I like the happy ending of the Iron Knight and sort of want to keep it happy. Should I read it?
