Very fun , light movie. A hoot for adults and older kids alike.
The plot unfolds like a Spaghetti Western movie. Cute in it's own way.
Great entertainment, good fights.
Enjoy! Get your Chi on.
There is a mainland Chinese version in the library collection: 從零開始, 太極 - Tai ji
Very entertaining story. I was surprised the film actually had a story. I was just expecting martial arts. It reminded me of a Quinten Tarentino style film.
Tai Chi Hero is a delight for its genre. Fantastic scriptwriting. Witty abd humorous. Over the top martial arts scenes. Enough romance and wit about it to be enjoyable by both men and women which, of course, is not usualto a genre predisposed to making just guy flicks.
If you are uncertain, get it! Plan for fun. It's a popcorn movie but well beyond the usual popcorn move.
Steam-punk meets kung-fu in a comic book stylization. Oh, it's part 1 of 2- coming soon: Tai Chi Hero.
Director Fung tried a few new tricks in this martial art/comedy film with China in turmoil a century ago. Despite his avant garde approach, the film stayed mediocre and the plot totally lacked credibility. Watch it only when you have nothing better to do.
