A very cool documentary about the Star Trek genre! Gene R.'s son, Rod, covered a lot of ground. Includes Magel Barrett scenes(Rod's mom). I truly enjoyed this DVD!!

It starts off dealing with Star Trek and it's normal fans (not the fringe elements depicted in Trekkies), but it evolves into a story about a son trying to reconnect with his father. Man, myth, and legend; Rod Roddenberry tries to cut through it to reveal a flawed man who created Star Trek. Even if you aren't the biggest fan of Trek you will enjoy the journey Rod goes through, learning about the father he lost when he was only 17. And the extended interviews are must sees.

An excellent documentary! It really captures who Gene Roddenberry was and how he developed Star Trek and his vision. Great for New and old fans alike!
