Solid supernatural adventure that featured a broad range of characters from beloved figures to hated villains, fast paced and imaginative plot.

Just another show about how great drugs are, and the only way someone can handle genius is to abuse drugs, to further their own genius, do more drugs. Lame.

There are interesting elements of real history woven into this show's primarily fictional adventures of young Leonardo DaVinci. Each episode is so jam-packed with story that an hour feels like two; and I mean that in a good way - there's a type of exhaustion one feels after watching an episode that is akin to the feeling one gets after watching a really engaging movie. No wasted scenes and characters here! "DaVinci's Demons" is a fine example of 'extended' storytelling.

I think people should remember, in the paraphrased-words of Alfred Hitchcock, that this "is only a tvvvv show"... And as such, it is a fascinating and luxurious and jaw-droppingly done and expensive-looking and immensely enjoyable series, with one of the best villain ***ever*** in the Blake Ritson character, and a soundtrack with unbelievably beautiful melodies... The only thing wrong with this series is that the first season is wayyy too short...

Not to confuse history with fictional drama, but for the record: da Vinci was forbidden to marry, or have children, under pain of death during the time he lived, as he was born out of wedlock, of bastard birth, so therefore barred from the holy laws of matrimony of those times. (That was the hard and fast law of the times.) The assistant he took, later in life on a return to a village, was exactly 9 months younger than when da Vinci had left that village years before (the assistant was 16, and da Vinci returned 16 years, 9 months later), where he had done pencil and ink studies of attractive women (in other words, his assistant was most likely his birth son).

It's okay-I've watched 2 discs and will finish the set, but it's getting boring. It's kind of the same thing in every episode. Leo gets into trouble and gets himself out by way of his genius. IN the background is some mysterious book and keys and dreams. Not on a level with other series I am watching-Boardwalk Empire, House of Cards, Downton Abbey, Call the Midwife, Paridise, Sefridges, etc.
