The first half of the film, and all the extensive extra material, is amateur footage by Nixon colleagues. It is as weak as home movies generally, but will have some interest for those who remember the personalities involved. Nixon and his entourage made many foreign trips, which look exhausting in review but apparently had a winning effect abroad. The second half of the film is about Watergate and replays conversations from Nixon's office audio tapes. The same U.S. media that covered up the 1963 Johnson/CIA coup, and never condemned Johnson and Nixon for killing millions in Vietnam, turned the trivial Watergate incident into a major national crisis. They were eager to use Nixon's secret tapes against him, but blamed him for having made them. Yet JFK and LBJ had done the same thing.
The "good old days" when they actually sent the crooks to jail!
