Not a happy story, but a well-written one. While Tierce's narrator lives a level of self-destruction that will be outside of most reader's experience, the non-linear style of the writing tells Marie's story creatively and I found Tierce's style fresh and original.

I read this entire book in one night. Compulsively readable. This story is told as if you were sitting next to someone on a long flight somewhere; frank yet tender in its delivery. It is dark at times but feels genuine and honest. Nothing is embellished or glossed over.

This was a good book but the story was a little sad. Marie is very lost in her life.

Whew. A pretty damn spot on account of what working in the restaurant world is like, and what being a confused and sad young adult is like. This book makes me very happy that I am not a floundering young adult anymore; those days were rough! Very well written - I tore though 100 pages in an afternoon.
