Spider-Man's conflict has been within himself: the struggle between Peter Parker and the responsibilities of Spider-Man. But Peter Parker, finds that his greatest battle is about to begin. It's great to be Spider-Man, but being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.
"Aerial sequences are often thrilling. However, interpersonal relations are front and center in this installment."--USA Today.
"Garfield is a sensitive actor who brings a quirky blend of intelligence and goofiness to Peter Parker... As for Stone, she's just so darned charming."--Associated Press.
"...Bombast with human-scale drama, child-friendly comedy and gushers of tears."--New York Times.

💖 great movie

Jun 18, 2018

The ending is really depressing, and ends on a cliffhanger. NavyWolf said it perfectly. It is a great movie though. Peter really needs someone other than Gwen to confide in, and the relationship with Gwen is not very strong anyways. Because, as obvious, there is no sequel, I was really disappointed. It would be really cool to have Venom as a Villain/Hero with Flash Thompson getting a good role. Guess I just have to wait for Venom's movie to come out later.

Bad sequel. Tried to put too many villains in one movie.

It was great, but very depressing and the end is a cliffhanger without another movie to end it. Electro is now my fav. villain.

I feel like i liked this movie more than a lot of people. It definitely wasn't as good as the first, but i liked what they did with electro. I also like Andrew Garfield as peter parker.

Very meh. Not bad per se, but Sony was trying to do too much, and everything suffered. No matter how integral they are to the story, bringing back Norman, Harry, and the Green Goblin was a mistake because it detracks from the new angle of Spider-man, while also regressing. Not only does it regress, but it is not nearly as well done as in the original trilogy. It's a fair critique to compare the two series; I suppose I'm just glad they did not try to cover the Venom arc again.

In retrospect, the Marvel movies always do better when they include breadcrumbs to other stories, sometimes several movies ahead. It's a connected world. One-and-done stories do not work nearly as well because there is not nearly as much growth for the characters that stick around in multiple films. It worked in the original trilogy because, even though the main villains were always taken care of, you still had the triangle between Peter, MJ, and Harry that waxed and waned. Trying to hamfist that entire arc into a single movie just doesn't work.

Even with a few surprises and secrets revealed, the movie seemed a bit ho-hum.

Not a patch on the Toby Maguire ones. And the ending with his girlfriend was too heavy-handed and telegraphed all the way through the movie.

When you are jerked out of your suspension of disbelief by the score and your brain says "Oh, that's the music they usually use when someone...", that's a bad score (& a bad editor for not catching that. It gave the whole thing away). Trying to avoid spoilers here, but may have failed.

Max Dillon: Of course you are, Doc. Thats why you're preparing military grade Biostim electrodes. High intensity capacitors, the kind they make at OsCorp. All of this because you're trying to help me.

Dr. Ashley Kafka: You are correct. I'm here to study you, to understand what you are, why you are. And I will get results.

[Kafka uses the electrodes on Max causing him pain]

Dr. Ashley Kafka: I always do.
