While Lucille moves back in with her overbearing mother and Arthur serves time in prison for murder, new character Renée becomes obsessed with a married jazz musician twice her age. What a collection of morbid depressing characters! Exaggerated melodrama, no subtlety here. Great pen and ink drawings, unusual format, but merely okay dialogue. Text a little hard to read. Hard to see what makes this book essential.
