One of Sarah's daughters died. But can she be sure which one? THE ICE TWINS is a terrifying psychological thriller with a twisting plot worthy of Gillian Flynn. A year after one of their identical twin daughters, Lydia, dies in an accident, Angus and Sarah Moorcraft move to the tiny Scottish island Angus inherited from his grandmother, hoping to put together the pieces of their shattered lives. But when their surviving daughter, Kirstie, claims they have mistaken her identity that she, in fact, is Lydia their world comes crashing down once again. As winter encroaches, Angus is forced to travel away from the island for work, Sarah is feeling isolated, and Kirsty (or is it Lydia?) is growing more disturbed. When a violent storm leaves Sarah and her daughter stranded, Sarah finds herself tortured by the past what really happened on that fateful day one of her daughters died?

Borrowed and devoured the same day. I simply could not fall asleep last night until I’d reached the end of this book. Tense, suspenseful, and utterly chilling... if I wasn’t expected to be a productive human today I’d be running off to the library in search of other novels by this author.

Definitely a strange book. Very creepy, very mysterious. I liked the different narrators, it really gave the book an edge.

This is the perfect novel to set on a Scottish Island. It is a creepy story about a "just-barely-functioning" family who quit London and take up residence on a uninhabited Scottish Island. It has been over a year since the accidental death of one of their identical twin daughters and the surviving twin is exhibiting some strange and unexplained behaviours. The father has lost his job and he feels this relocation will be beneficial, Is there method to his madness? The Island is remote and isolated and contact with the outside world is difficult at times because the Island doesn't have wifi or cell service. And there is a dilapidated old house with plenty of vermin and drafts. The environment of the Island contributes to the eerie atmosphere of story. The Island is fictional but based on a real Island off the coast of Skye.

Pulled in by the premise of this book. The remaining twin has a creepiness to her and the remote island with harsh weather elements adds a sinister setting. How the parents handle the situation is a bit unbelievable - but this is fiction. A good page turner that keeps you guessing. I was a bit unsatisfied with the ending.

A friend recommended this one to me so I read it. It took me a while to start it but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. Every time I thought I'd guessed who was the culprit I got proved wrong. Basically, this book had me guessing till the end. It was a wonderful mystery, creepy and fantastic at the same time.

The story is unbelievable. Parents have no logic. I listened to the audio version-three tracks just described a storm. Wasted a whole week listening to this thinking it would go somewhere or get better but it just got more silly.

The over all story was interesting but there were parts that were hard to believe. One that the parents couldn't tell their twins apart. Two that they didn't have the child go into therapy. Three that they thought moving to an isolated island was a good idea. Some of the ending was surprising but another part was expected.

Having a few sets of twins in my family I find it hard to believe that by age 6 there are not more differences and confusion could arise. So first premise is hard to swallow. Half way through story why did father tell his friend a story about twin's death that was not true? A few other unexplained twists in the plot not resolved at the end. A quick read but there are a lot better books out there to take up my reading time.
