A novel about faith and family, love and forgiveness, and how people survive unimaginable loss. There's Ben, a limo driver who, after he loses his son, finds himself locked up in a psych ward with a hole in his head he can't explain. His wife, Maggie, is locked up in her own grief, unable to reach out to her husband. Then there is Maggie's brother, Francis, an unlikely priest with a drinking problem and only occasional interest in celibacy, whose latest fall from the wagon was caught on video and has gone viral as Drunk Priest Propositions Cop.

I loved this book! I could not put it down. It read like a thriller although it was actually a character driven drama. Livingston reveals her characters' stories and their connections to each other masterfully and keeps us hopeful even in the darkest moments. The writing is so vivid - I felt privileged to spend time in these characters' lives. Can't wait for more from Livingston!

Beautiful book. The language is poetic and raw. The characters feel genuine. At its heart, this novel is a layered meditation on faith and love but one that manages to be both gripping and sporadically, quite funny.
