If you're a friend of mine and you didn't enjoy this movie, I'm going to have to really reevaluate our relationship. This is a brilliantly done film and incredibly smart. Yes yes, the social commentary. I'm not going to say that if you didn't like this film that you're a racist, that isn't what is trying to be said. "Be a filter, not a sponge" as the saying goes. Of course this film isn't meant to say that all white people are evil, that's not the point. Jordan Peele brought several issues to light is a subtle way, something that is very refreshing. There are legitimately suspenseful and eerie scenes and the whole atmosphere from the get-go is extremely unsettling. If you're hesitant, give it a shot with an open mind.

Fast forward to 1 hour mark and then it's entertaining

Doesn't deserve 5 stars or 1 star, somewhere in between. Slow start and yes there was definitely social commentary, sometimes you notice it and other times not as much. One of the funnier/better parts somehow was also one of the more annoying parts.

I thought this was a brilliant movie -- spot-on, entirely gripping, scary yet with elements of fun. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent example on how to execute horror.

Taking influence from classic titles like "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Stepford Wives," "Get Out" takes an issue that remains prevalent in modern societal norms and politics and gives it a more twisted perspective.

I know Jordan Peele from his comedy routines, and his directorial debut has me greatly impressed. The main similarity between comedy and horror is in the timing and delivery of their punches, and a well-seasoned performer like Peele can deliver with no problem. The key to making these stories work is in the pacing and foreshadowing. Things you may not have noticed at first will return later and have you breathe an, "Of course!" It's well done storytelling.

A very stupid movie that I cannot say one good thing about.

Stepford Wives for the 21st Century. Good acting, fairly good story. Probably more appropriate for late teens early twenties than mature adults. (see how I didn't call myself old there?) Very interesting idea, but not really scary.

"You know what I say? I say, one down, a couple hundred thousand to go. I don't mean to get on my high horse, but -- I'm telling you -- I do not like the deer. I'm sick of it. They're taking over, they're like rats, they're destroying the ecosystem. I see a dead deer on the side of the road and I think, 'That's a start'."
