Amy Redwing has dedicated her life to the southern California organization she founded to rescue abandoned and endangered golden retrievers. No one is surprised when Amy risks her life to save Nickie, nor when she takes the female golden into her home. The bond between Amy and Nickie is immediate and uncanny. Even her two other goldens, Fred and Ethel, recognize Nickie as special, a natural alpha. But the instant joy Nickie brings is shadowed by a series of eerie, ominous, and invasive incidents.--From publisher's description.

A rescued golden retriever leads a couple on a different, and harrowing, rescue mission.

If you are a Koontz fan, and an animal lover in general, and a big dogs lover in particular, you'll love this book. Classic Koontz for dog lovers!

I really enjoyed this book. I love stories about dogs and animals in general. I liked how Mr. Koontz added the supernatural to the story.

I liked this book. The characters were interesting and I love dogs, so I enjoyed that part too.

Typically, I love Dean Koontz books; this was an easy read and not nearly as intense as some. I still enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't re-read it in the future!

Not the best, but not the worst of Koontz. Suspense fans and dog lovers will still enjoy this story.

Not one of Koontz's best novels, but it passed the time pleasantly enough. Would not re-read though.
