"When media-savvy members of the Satanic Temple organize a series of public actions designed to advocate for religious freedom and challenge corrupt authority, they prove that with little more than a clever idea, a mischievous sense of humor, and a few rebellious friends, can speak truth to power in some truly profound ways. A timely look at a group of often misunderstood outsiders whose unwavering commitment to social and political justice has empowered thousands of people around the world."--Container.

I was surprised. I assumed this was going to be about devil worshiping, exorcisms, plagues of locusts and darkness. It was more about freedom of speech and separation of Church and State. I mean really-- The 10 Commandments in front of a government facility? Our country was not established as a Christian Nation. “Under God” was not added to our coinage until the 1950’s when Eisenhower was telling the Russians to back off.
The only reason I gave it a 3 star is because I learned something.

This movie wasn't as compelling as I'd hoped it would be, but it was still very thought provoking.

A well made and often funny documentary about The Satanic Temple's demonstrations for religious freedom and separation of church and state.

Hail Satan? was orchestrated to positively promote the Satanic movement as the saviours while the Christians were negatively promoted as homophobic judgemental individuals associated with a priest class that molests children. The Satanic Temple associates with science and atheism. Most Atheists believe there is no God or Creator and believe in the one self. This religion claims a view of an ego-driven self that man is God on Earth and the desire to become a deity. They worship themselves so it is up to Man himself to impose order upon each other and over Nature itself. Yet almost all Atheists worship the government. Atheists and others dwell in spiritual IGNOR-ance and the masses need to awaken from their sleep. The documentary speaks of Hollywood's iconic film the Ten Commandments. They admitted that it was a propaganda, which was distributed to the herds and afterwards, they unveiled the statue of the Ten Commandments that resonates to the certainty that Hollywood promotes ideologies, and belief systems. Today, Hollywood dislikes Christian beliefs and Hollywood simultaneously encourages a Satanic lifestyle. Jex Blackmore a former Satanist speaks of a Christian story about Eve and how she bites from the apple of the Garden of Eden embracing rebellion rather than being controlled. She believes that motherhood is forced, but she doesn’t understand the principles of natural law. Jex decided to give away her natural given sovereignty of motherhood for an ideology that was created by a man in order to aid in the works of the cremation of loving care and give into the artificial version of a sacred feminine. She also represents the idea that there are so many blinded and lost souls who are unable to see with their eyes wide open. Jex was thrown out because she exposed her anger, so this institution must recruit another individual who will spread the same message in a concealed format. Satanists identify with an adversary, but if they saw real rebellion over the government, they would stop this adversary on its tracks. Like any other religious institution, they desire money and chaos in order to gain opportunistic power over the masses. Dark occultists understand how to manipulate the masses because they use education, as a tool to benefit their agenda. They are no different from the Christians. The only difference is they use pitchforks to pick up the trash while the Christians use manual labour. This documentary debunks Satanic ritualistic abuse and places it as a hoax, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t occur. Christians oppose pedophilia and look at their priest class and the Satanic Temple opposes pedophilia just like the Christians. This is a perfect example of how ideology changes and how a systematic belief becomes discriminative because of one’s interpretation of a way of thinking. In order to watch this documentary, you must comprehend the Human Psyche, the laws of nature, the laws of the universe and occulted knowledge in order to judge and see through the beast system that is making its way into society rapidly. 2.5/5. @janmarrow1225 of The Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board

I went to the TIFF Lightbox theatre in Toronto to see this a couple of months ago. I want to see it again. If you Google "The Satanic Temple" you will see that they are mainly a social activist group dedicated to such social issues as the separation of Church and State as well as women's reproductive rights. Their name is designed to attract attention to the various causes they go to court for. They do have 'worship' services exalting their patron Fallen Angel, Baphomet.
For the record I am a card carrying member. I am also an Atheist so I do not believe in the actual existence of Satan or God. I occasionally 'Shop Satan' on their website to support their efforts. While you're at it check out the music of Swedish musical group 'Ghost'. They will be in Hamilton on Thursday October 17th at First Ontario Place (formerly Copps Colosseum). This will be the 3rd time I'm seeing them. They won an Emmy for their album 'Meliora'. Their popularity keeps growing.
