Without a doubt this is my favorite Christian movie & I think even a secular person could find this film to be a good one. Ultimately this is a film about hope, something hard to find these days in most of what Hollywood puts out or in pop culture ("I can't feel my face when I'm with you but I like it."). This film is also inspiring & gets to the heart of what so many of us long for, love of family, community of choice, kids, sacredness of friendship, and yes, God.
Two friends find each other after each has had significant struggles. There is also a mystery in the plot as well as lovely cinematography which considering the films budget, is impressive. This movie doesn't smack you upside the head with a moral message but instead lets the characters unfold the redemption that awaits. I cried tears of sadness & tears of joy. And there are some great songs in the film too. I now own a copy of this movie because it's that good. I've rented 393 items from the library & this is the 1st one I've ever had to own.
