A great read for women in the time of #MeToo - this is spot-on timely and relevant. Super-appealing to women who are sick of the crazy beauty, diet, and fitness industry that continually shouts "be skinny!" "be young!", but above all "be sexy!". The protagonist, Plum Kettle, works at a woman's magazine, and is so tired of being criticized and humiliated by others because of her body size that she saves up money for a stomach-stapling operation. Her tale is woven into that of a radical feminist brigade who inflict a particular brand of vigilante justice on sexual predators. Watch the TV adaptation of the novel on AMC - Julianna Margulies plays Plum's exploitative editor to perfection.
